Stage B Freediver (3 days) – Northern beaches


Stage B Freediving Course will enable you to reach depths beyond recreational limits. You will learn advanced training techniques on land and in the water. We will work the mouth-fill equalisation technique so you can descend below residual volume of your lungs. Expected depth – 30m.

If you’re an experienced diver, you’ll learn skills that will take your freediving or spearfishing to the next level. Together, we’ll work on the flexibility of your body and mind.

Minimum Age: 16

Open Water Training: 4 sessions

Pool Training : Static Session + Dynamic Session

Course results in an international certification from Apnea International

You will need to bring your own gear – mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, weight belt, socks & gloves.

To do this course you should have completed Apnea Australia Stage A Course, or equivalent, and you must be healthy and comfortable in the water.

  • Fitness training for Freediving.
  • Breathing exercises – Pranayama.
  • Relaxation techniques for Freediving.
  • Planning an open water dive session.
  • The Training sessions include Static breath-hold tables and Deep water sessions.
  • The emphasis is on energy efficient movement in the water.
  • We will try to find the best individual technique that will result in the best improvement.
  • It is important to understand that with proper training and knowledge a Freediver will improve the depth as well as the dive time.

You will need to bring your own gear – Mask, Snorkel, fins and wetsuit. The gear does not have to be freediving gear but it is recommended. A gear session will be conducted through the course to help you choose the right gear.

If you do not have gear – please notify your instructor before the course so that he could provide you with options.

First day-

  • Start around 09:00. Theory until 12:30.
  • Static and dynamic training until 16:00.

Second day-

  • Meet for theory / go for a dive – depending on sea conditions
  • We need 3 hours of theory + time for 2 dives (each dive – 1 hour).

Third day-

  • Meet for theory / go for a dive – depending on sea conditions and boat.
  • We need 3 hours of theory + time for 2 dives (each dive – 1 hour).
  • Finish course around 16:00-17:00.
  • This schedule is only for general knowledge. Times may change according to sea conditions and the will of the group.
