Stage A Freediving – Perth (Royce)

Are you tempted by the blue ocean depths or are you a spearfisherman wanting to dive safely and catch more fish? You came to the right place.

Freediving lets you explore space between two breaths. To learn to freedive means to learn about yourself, while exploring your body and mind – at depth. To hold the breath feels unnatural at first but with knoweldge and training, it can feel joyful, effortless and calming. Because of this, freediving can be challenging but ultimately life changing.

The Apnea Australia Stage A Freediving Course is the introduction to the purest form of diving. You’ll learn about the importance of breathing and about the physiology of a breath hold – why you fell what you feel when you hold your breath and what you can do to safely prolong this experience – on land and in the water.

You’ll learn skills that will take your freediving or spearfishing to the next level. Together, we’ll work on the flexibility of your body and mind.

DAY 1, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Theory & Pool training
I’ll guide you through a pool training session so that you experience different training methods we use in freediving. We’ll complete a static CO2 table and some dynamic drills. You’ll leave this session with newly gained confidence in your skills and abilities.

DAY 2, 8am – 4:30pm
Open water Freediving session
During the day you will complete several dives and have the chance to experience everything you learned in the pool and in the class room hands-on in the ocean. We usually do 2 ocean dives either at The Spit, Gordon’s Bay or Vaucluse Bay depending on ocean conditions.

WHAT’S NEXT
You can join a training group, my weekly pool training sessions in Newcastle, social dives or Freediving Holidays around the world-hopefully soon.
